PC712 Terminal Servers

Feedback has designed a wide range of terminal servers to suit many different network configurations. The units convert host RS232 signals into the signals used on FACT and FAMS networks. Terminal servers are designed for desk top mounting and measure 63mm high, 365mm wide and 256mm deep. Three LEDs are provided to display the system's status.

Models

  • 712-503 - FAMS single port, single line terminal server with the ability to drive up to 30 multi-dropped terminals using either 2 wire or 4 wire communications.
  • 712-506 - FAMS single port multi line terminal server offering sixteen 2-wire connections enabling 16 multi-dropped networks to be used. Terminals may be attached to each 2-wire connection either singly or in multi-dropped configurations.
  • 712-507 - FAMS single port multi line terminal server offering eight 4-wire connections enabling 8 multi-dropped networks to be used. Terminals may be attached to each 4-wire connection either singly or in multi-dropped configurations.
  • 712-101 - FACT four port terminal server providing connectivity for up to 4 FACT terminals. Each terminal is connected to the terminal server via a twisted pair and each twisted pair can be up to 5Km in length.
  • 712-102 - FACT sixteen port terminal server providing connectivity for up to 16 FACT terminals. Each terminal is connected to the terminal server via a twisted pair and each twisted pair can be up to 5Km in length.

Enhanced Terminal Servers

  • 712-703 (APTS) - The Automatic Polling Terminal Server (APTS) has been designed to reduce the overall processing required by a host system that is used to maintain a network of FAMS terminals. This reduction is achieved by relieving the host of the responsibility of polling the terminals for data and giving the task to the terminal server. This unit has sixteen 2-wire connections and any messages from the host are broadcast down all 16 lines.
  • 712-HTC (For Structured Wiring Systems) - This unit is ideal where structured wiring is being used. It is built in a 1U high 19" rack mounted case with a brushed aluminium front panel. It supports 8 separate cable runs for terminals and one for host connection, all using standard RJ45 jacks.
  • 712-TTC (For Structed Wiring Systems) - This unit is a cable expander for use with structured wiring systems. It is built in a 1U high 19" rack mounted case with a brushed aluminium front panel. It expands a single cable to 8 separate cable runs for connection to terminals.

Options

  • Radio time receiver MSF (British) or DC775 (Central European)
  • Ethernet connection 10Base2 or 10BaseT
  • Token Ring connection Type 1 or Type 3
