The Feedback Bridge
The Feedback Bridge is a communications driver which can be used to communicate with
a number of FAMS terminals over a variety of interfaces. The driver is implemented as a
32 bit DLL which runs under Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP.
The driver is intended to support both 'raw' and 'automatic' communication sequences.
- Raw mode : The calling application has precise control over the message to be sent
to a terminal, and the way in which a response should be processed.
- Automatic mode : The calling application can ask the driver to poll terminals for data
on its behalf. The driver generates and maintains the FAMS communication and
carries out all necessary error recovery. Additionally the polling operation can be
suspended and a request made to execute a specified FAMS command. This
operation can carry out all necessary error recovery.
Dialit
The utility, DialiT.exe, is a 32 bit application designed to dial a number of FAMS modem
terminals, and collect all transaction data from them. While connected, the terminal's time
is synchronised with that of the calling host and an optional terminal configuration file is
issued. A simple user interface provides facilities for an operator to edit / add information
relating to each particular terminal in the dial list. The complete application is contained
within a single file. The program assumes that the host has both a modem fitted and a
TAPI (telephone API) service available.
Dialit is provided 'as is' and will not be further developed.
Termtool
Termtool enables the user to configure and manage a FAMS network of terminals. The
program is designed to run under WindowsT. Termtool consolidates the latest versions
of FAMCON, VAL, WALT, SICSUB and TESTVx programs into one product. It can also
import existing files which have previously been created within these programs.
Termtool is provided 'as is' and will not be further developed.
